Hello, lovely to meet you!

Clarissa

I am Clarissa and I created Shubi Hubi Studio

I trained along two parallel paths: while completing my master's degree in Art History with a thesis in Cultural Heritage Legislation, I developed skills in various artistic techniques as a self-taught artist and through private courses. Since 2018 I have been sketching on the go β€” quick drawings, first in pencil and then in watercolour, inspired by the places I visit and the people I meet. The months I spent in London were fundamental to my personal growth; they laid the foundations for the Shubi project, which took shape a few years later, in Rome. By sharing my sketches on social media, I established myself as a live artist for events, trips and ceremonies, bringing my unique performances first to various venues in Rome and then to events across Italy. Beyond live painting, I create illustrations for different occasions: my work draws inspiration from people and the details of their everyday lives. I love telling their stories, with the aim of making painting an experience that everyone can live. Today, I have chosen a slower pace that allows me to enjoy the creative process β€” seeing the projects I follow through to completion and dedicating careful attention to the people who have chosen me to give shape to their ideas.

Let's get to know each other

My Creative Process

My work is slow, about listening and patience. Behind the frenzy of events and lively preparations lies a silent process that, most of the time, unfolds in complete solitude.

From the moment an idea is born, it takes its place in a drawer of the mind, which works on it daily, trying to develop it.

What defines the value of every single creation is the time dedicated to it before it exists, and the care it takes to make it what it is.

In my studio, alternating music and films with moments of absolute silence, I try to grasp what might work and attempt to shape it through experimentation.

The season of events follows the months spent drawing them, in a cycle that seems to follow nature: a dormancy where ideas are born, then the moment they become ready for others.

I love my process and the thought of always being able to create something new. I don't want to be just one thing, and through my work I've learned that, when I feel the need, I can change.
